I tried using the Western Union money transfer service at the bank today 03/09/2013. Firstly the bank laid out old Western Union forms without informing clients that the form has since changed. Only one teller is available to do the Western Union transfer service (which -as the bank is there to service clients and not frustrate them). The teller couldn't find the suburb online as she informed me the bank had a system upgrade a week ago. Less than three weeks ago I used Western Union for the first time and the teller took about 1 minute to locate the correct suburb/city and country. When I tried to do Western Union via ABSA Online and add the beneficiary, the residing country not part of listed countries and then the helpline tells me if it's not there ABSA not transferring funds to that country. Wow when has ABSA stopped Western Union transfer to MEXICO???
