I am freelance journalist and travel writer with a commercial policy from Western National
Specified items include a Canon camera insured for R8800. This was the amount I had bought it for in 2008.
It was insured for this amount.
After a recent burglary it was and I have claimed for this item.
Insurers offer to pay R5500 as a replacement value.
I demand the full insured value of R8800 for which I have paid premiums for the last 5 years.
Slow and unprofessional response from broker and assessor - for example, we waited 2 weeks for the assessor to file a report.
What can I do? I have already contacted the Ombudsman for Short term Insurance
