My name is Nomakhaladi Patricia Mahintsho the spouse of the late Mzomhle Aron Mahintsho. my husband took an insurance policy with a broker called Billion Enterprises.this broker offered us a product from Assupol which covered funeral costs, Tombstone and groceries. When my husband passed away in April 2011 i went to submit a claim to them and they only contacted the other insurer who was part of the package (Nestlife).my claim was turned down and Billion Enterprises told me there is nothing they can do. I have tried several time to contact Assupol regarding their part of the deal but all the emails are not being answered. The broker also promised me that they were to pay more than R50000.00 after six months waiting period as my husband was paying a lot on this insurance and my assumption is that the money was going to come from Assupol. I would like Assupol to pay what is due to me as the matter would be taken to the Ombudsman should they fail to help me any further. I.d.no for my husband is 5501165165087.
The product was a package deal that involved a lot of underwriters but in the summary of benefits Assupol has been listed to cover Funeral Costs, Tombstone and groceries..
