I am a South African, with an ABSA account, living in Malaysia.
November 2012 I withdrawn money in Malaysia from my Absa account. The transaction was cancelled, and I didn't receive the money, yet the money was deducted. The Malaysian bank confirmed they reversed the transaction, and the money was send back to ABSA. So, all Absa had to do, was to refund the money to my account. Which up until today, didn't happen! Even after numerous emails, and international calls (which I had to pay), no one attended to the problem. I have endless reference numbers.
On the 16th August 2013 (10 DAYS AGO) I transferred money from my Malaysian account, to my ABSA account, and the money is still not reflecting. That is 10 days!!! Normally with my FNB account, it takes 2 hours!
Now again, I have spend an hour on the phone, calling every possible ABSA number, only to be put on hold, and transferred to another consultant each time. Yet again, all I have is reference numbers
This is almost R8 000 that Absa is owing me! I wonder what Absa will do if I owe them that amount? Legal letters, threats, interest? So what should I do!!??
I expect someone from ABSA to CALL me ASAP with a solution.
Thank you
