I'm trying to buy my first home and look after my mother. Of course I wanted help from Standard Bank. I went into the branch in Kenilworth Center and spoke to a woman named Nicole. She did a screening which was approved and told me what information and documents I needed to submit before filling in anything.
Two weeks later I got a call from someone in the home loans dpt giving me some vague reason as to why my application was declined because the plot size of the town house was below what they would grant a home loan on. I didn't understand, so I went into the Kenilworth branch again and asked to speak to someone to explain to me. Nicole had seen me again and tried to speak to someone in your home loans dpt to clarify. Nicole wrote down my name and details in her diary and said she would call me on Monday 22 July with an explanation. I stressed my need for answers and advice as to what I should do next.
I've always championed Standard Bank and never had issues with service. I'm now forced to go to Nedbank, who has certainly been more helpful in explaining what I qualify for, why I can't qualify for more and what to do next.
Am I not going to get any response or help at all?
