According to Standard bank home loans this is the reason why I cannot qualify for a home loan???!!! I got divorced in 1996. the property was given to my ex husband in the divorce settlement. My ex husband did not take it off my name. He stopped paying for the property as well as run out of the country. Standard bank had asked me if I want to take over the property I will have too catch up the payments in 6 months. i did just that. after 6 months they asked me to get my own homelaon so i can own the property, I did not qualify as I was not working at the time. My Sister bought the property and I paid it every single month. I have qualified for a car loan and credit card (with standard bank), but I cannot apply for a home loan??? asI have now found out that I have a judgment against my name??? this was my ex husbands problem NOT mine!!?? When I call to sort it out with standard bank the gentlemen helping me could not be MORE RUDE and even went so far as to say I was lying??? I also asked to speak to the bank manager who was busy at the time and said she would call me back which I still have not heard anything in return??!!!
