Went into the branch this morning to open a capitec account as I want to close my account with my other bank. Was standing there with a utility bill and my drivers license, the guy at the door said I need a bill with my physical adress. So I drove back to my home 30km away to get a bill with my physical adress. Got back to the branch and guess what, I need my original I'd, Capitec does not accept a drivers license. This is absolutely stupid, as the attendant at the door should have told me this 2 hours and 60 km earlier. Needless to say, Capitec can now shove their account.
