On 18 January I went to the Brooklyn branch to check on my account which I hadn't used in a while and wanted to as I am saving for a car. I was told it was dormant and needed to bring proof of residence.
I brought a bank statement from ABSA only to find that (a) the lady who had assisted me was lying with her head down on the table and (b) my statement was unacceptable as it didn't have my physical address on it: I had my ID and drivers licence with me: what more do you need?
Capitec makes it incredibly difficult to save and the customer service I received on that day at the Sleep Lab was not good at all: I will rather keep the funds under my mattress.
