Poor customer service

I took out an insurance policy with Anderson on 18 July 2013 in order to be able to collect my car from the car dealership. I explicitly told the call centre agent to debit my account on Monday, 22 July 2013 and not the following day as that was too soon. She agreed only to debit my account on the Friday. I spoke to Karabo's manager regarding the incident who promised to listen to the call and get back tome, which she hasn't done to date.

I then sent a cancellation request to Siviwe Ngxabazi (Queries Department) on 22 July 2013 and proof of new insurance and he hasn't responded since. I have been in communication with Charmaine since 16:00pm today, 26 July 2013 only to be told that my documents have been received but the changes will be effected on the 1 August 2013 due to their 30-day cancellation policy- which was STILL not disclosed by the agent upon initiation of my policy. It's been a full 7 days and I STILL haven't received my policy schedule, not even a soft copy.

I am appalled by the service rendered by Anderson insurance and this makes me confident that I have made the right decision by cancelling my policy, what would have happened at claim stage?
