My Son had a motor Bike accident well over a month ago - a lady cut in front of him (while on cell phone) and damaged his bike. I contacted Madeline (whom i had dealt with previously) got the forms, completed and submitted - only to NOT hear from her i had to keep chasing up. Then luckily got onto Veronica whom i have no complaint with - a lovely lady - very helpful etc. What I don't understand is why do we pay insurance if when we have an accident WE are liable to pay for the excess - not the person who caused the accident. Now suddenly we have to come up with R 6000.00 to fix my sons damaged motor bike of R9000.00. Insurance only has to pay our R 3000.00 I have querried this with Veronica only to be told now something to do with this ladies insurance not pay for Knock for knock (what ever that may be). Why are we not told when taking out insurance also have a separate savings account to pay excess whether you at fault or not. I find this totally unacceptable and not fair that we must be penalized for something some stupid lady did. Surely you have a way of getting her to pay our excess. Why do we pay fully comprehensive insurance when we ultimately end up paying
