I DJ Meyer have full comprehensive insurance with Virgin Money, policy nr. 250022646. My daughter was involve in an accident in March with my Kia Rio. Because she was not the regular driver, I had to pay an excess of R5000, which was going to be recovered from the third party who shived infront of my daughter forcing her of the road into a electricity pole. Statements were taken from all involved, I reported it to my insurance, the car was repaired, I paid the excess and the process, I thought started to have my excess recovered form the third party who caused the accident. I phoned Virgin in August to find out what the progress was, suddenly they couldn`t find my claim. I then made several calls and at last my claim was found but there was no process put into place to receover my excess, as there was no third party involve and they did not have any detail of the third party, but will try and get the process going. I phoned them again today 22/10/2013 and again at first they couldn`t find my claim and eventually said they still can`t recover from the third party as his car was not damaged. My question is must I first collide with another car and not avoid an accident to be paid?
