Don't waist time to apply online at ABSA bank

I applied for a re-advance on our existing bond at ABSA bank home loans - they contacted us on 16 June 2013 to submit pay slips and ID documents which we emailed on the 18th of June 2013 which they acknowledge that they received.By checking on the status of the application on 16 July 2013 the application was still at step 1. After 5 phone calls to different numbers (0861258285 and 0861134654 and the local bank) they could not tell me why the application was stopped or stalled but only that I should re-apply (which is a timeous exercise which took me three evenings to complete - the option I opted for because I work during banking hours). Needless to say even though they used my cell phone number as a security check, none of the 5 people I spoke to bothered To call me when the lines went dead. This is my second application for a bond at the bank and the second time I experienced problems. We have decided to move our account to FNB bank after 40 years loyalty to ABSA where we qualify for a personal banker. My suggestion to ABSA: stop wasting money on advertisements and sponsorships and invest it in customer service.
