Home loan application delay and illogical criteria

Applied for a new home loan with ABSA three and half weeks ago through a bond originator. I have been a client with ABSA for the past 15 years, have ten accounts with them including credit cards and two mortgage bonds and excellent track record. Supplied all documentation normally asked for re my last bond application as I am self-employed plus letter of income from accountant. On the 25 Sept 2013, after two weeks ABSA gave me a new requirement to meet, this is to provide them with a personal IT34 a- assessed personal income from SARS for the last three years. I went see my priority bank manager about this; he told me that this is a vary unusual request given that my cc pay's for most of my personal expenses and that I should call the call centre, which action I have taken already and question ABSA about this. I have also lodged a complaint on the ABSA customer website e-mail. This request is ludicrous as my income is closely intertwined with my own business which ABSA has access to. To date they have not responded to my request for clarity or for removing this requirement. Happily, STD bank have approved the same application, just sad that ABSA cannot get their act together.
