My wife had an account with Absa. After years with Absa their customer service declined rapidly. When the law demands that we FICA our accounts, we did. Six months down the line we start getting several calls from companies with which we have a debit orders, complaining that they don't get paid. And that put US in a bad light.
We tried to phone Absa, but it is useless to phone them because they do not answer and if they do an incompetent person answers. After standing in line for, it felt like hours, the person at the desk just said "sorriiee". I don't blame the person behind the counter, I think Absa should improve on the customer relations. They, Absa, do not even have the decency to pick up the phone or even an email to inform you that your account will be block until Rica has been done... again. It is call customer care! They just block your account and wait for you to react. But they very fast to act when you own them money. So my wife and I decided to change our account to a different bank and did not even take 10 minutes.
