A few weeks ago, my mother received provident fund from a company she had a casual job with for a few months, since she is unemployed it came at a much needed time, one Saturday afternoon she went to the atm and her card was swallowed, she had no airtime to call and cancel the card, so she waited until the Monday and went to the bank (Goodwood branch). She informed them of the situation, she was given a print out of a bank statement, she was told that the R3300 she received had been used, after the card was swallowed and that the very next Morning, the sunday, a ten thousand rand was deposited into the account, being the honest lady she is, she informed them that she has no knowledge of those transactions and that she isnt interested in the ten thousand, she simply wants to know about the money she is entitled to, she was much later contacted and advised that she cannot get her OWN money due to negligence on her part (for not having airtime to call and cancel the card). They made no effort to assist her because she has been banking with them for years and is unemployed, instead now, she owes them money, this after they took R10000 That doesnt belong to them!!!
