ABSA has today deducted an amount of R2475 from my savings account without ever speaking to me in 10 years. I had a small loan that I paid off in the bank in cash more than 10 years ago. I have NEVER EVER heard from ABSA after that payment and took it that the loan was paid as I settled it myself. After more than 10 YEARS I get a sms on the 6th of June 2013 stating that Ii am in arrears on my loan. This is the FIRST any ONLY correspondence I got from ABSA in more than 10 years. I have never spoken to anyone that tried to tell me my loan was not settled, never made any arrangements, just this sms, and today the deduction out of my savings account. As I stated to Trudy Sikhakhakhane today, I moved a few years ago and all my documents were damaged in storage which includes all receipts, so I don't have a receipt for the payment. Trudy was incredibly rude, She did NOTHING to assist me, sat on the other side of the phone like a real madam and said there is nothing she can do. Tried to explain that I have NEVER EVER spoken to anyone in over 10 years and it can't be legal to take money, she could not assist. She says ABSA tried to get hold of me in 2011, NEVER EVER! SHE COULD NOT ASSIST!
