I have a loan with ABSA that has been running since end 2010 beginning 2011. And yes in this time I have made late payments a total of 4 times, the latest payment having been 4 days late. Last month I had issue with my salary and when ABSA phoned the day after my payment was due I told them to move it to the 1st. Now even though the loan deduction was suppose to have been moved to the 1st apparently it was not. But that's not the worst of it they deducted R299.99 interest for the late payment. 4 days late!!! I have since taking that loan been retrenched and got a new job that brings my total income down to 3k and yet I did not make this ABSA's problem I just paid every month and this is how I get repaid. I have been banking with ABSA for plus minus 16 years, I am so upset with ABSA that I am on the verge of switching banks. If ABSA does actually care about their clients now would be the time to show it.
