I have been a loyal ABSA customer for more than 20 years. 7 Years ago with my divorce ABSA supported me with my own home loan. My small home grown business has improved and my property doubled in value since then and my home loan is almost paid up. I applied for an extension on my home loan to purchase an additional property, knowing full well I am eligible and have an excellent credit record. Well, blow me down! My small business which does not require financials is not acceptable, despite 7 years of bank statements plus clear proof of other income, ABSA is declining my application. FNB just might want my portfolio.
