I was approved for a credit & garage card, got notification that they had been delivered and i needed to take my ID and some proof of address. I don't receive mail from other institutions/utilities, nothing. My salary slip doesn't have my address on. Yesterday took a copy of my lease (the complex trust holds the originals) and a referral from hospital with my address on. Neither of these suffice and i was given a Formal Settlement Declaration which a constable filled in, although he refused to write his ID number or DOB. None of the constables were willing to do this, it is private information. Today I took this to the bank regardless and this form does not suffice either. I walked away with two more Formal Settlement Declaration forms and now i have to somehow find a authorized official to fill this in completely. Why am i being made to jump through these hoops when i've been banking with nedbank for years? I don't bank with other institutions but if i did mail from them would suffice, must i just change bank completely, then? Mind you, not even mail from Nedbank will suffice. So two hours on two consecutive days at the branch and absolutely no progress.
