My credi card was two months back, and i went to Absa and applied for a new one.

I was able to transact online with my new credit card once, and thereafter, it reverted back to the old credit card details, with the result being that everytime I now want to transfer funds from my credit card to my current account, I get a "hot card" message and the transaction is declined.

Today, I called the internet banking call centre, and the lady referred me to credit cards as she was unable to assist me with my issue.

I then called credit cards, and after being placed on hold for a solid 10 minutes, I was told that I would have to speak to internet banking as this was their portfolio.

After confirming that I had been told by internet banking to contact credit cards, suddenly it was something that needed to be handled at the branch.

I do not understand why I should be inconvenienced when the error is obviously on their side as this card has worked before. Never mind the fact that any time I have an issue with Absa, the problem can only be settled at a branch; this is not only extremely inconvenient and backward, it is furthermore supported by somnambulistic agents.
