Credit card - no assistance

When i tried to use my ABSA Titanium credit card today I was told that the transaction was declined and the card was blocked. I logged on to internet banking and found that although my usual spend of R4000 was paid this month, there is an unexplained deficit of more than R16000 on the card. Bizarrely, ABSA online provides no record of any credit card transactions, so I cannot see where this spend occured. I immediately tried to call ABSA using the number on the back of the card to notify them of suspicious activity and ask them to investigate.

I have spent more than an hour on the phone being moved around between divisions and no one has been able/willing to assist me. At one point I was put through to credit, but the assistant sent me back to general inquiries. I found a number for card (different from the numbers I was given) but no one is picking up.

At present, I am unable to use my credit card and extremely anxious about illegal use of my card details, but unable to get assistance. I'm sure I'm not the first.
