On 4 April I went to ABSA Clearwater branch to cancel my credit card. After about 30 minutes wait and numerous phone calls to the credit card department, they eventually got it cancelled... or so I thought.
I requested proof of cancellation, but ABSA's response is simply: "We cannot provide you with proof, we promise that it was cancelled"!!!
Now, almost a month later the credit card still shows on my online banking... how pathetic!! The credit card department simply advised that it is not their problem, they did cancel the card, the problem is with the online banking department... passing the buck aren't we?
I am currently in a queue to speak to an agent... after 20 minutes on hold I still am not able to speak to anyone... how pathetic!!
What must an ABSA client do to completely cancel a credit card???!!!
This just shows once more how incredibly bad the service from ABSA is.
