Why do we have internet banking, branches, call cent

Good day Complaints Department Representative

On Wednesday, 23 October 2013 at 14:53 I visited the Fish Hoek ABSA branch to cancel my credit card. The banker told me that I should withdraw a certain amount in order to close my card as there is a credit due to me, which I did at the ATM just outside the bank. She then called the credit card line and handed Lerato Mofomme on the phone to me.

Lerato confirmed an endless amount of details, which the banker already confirmed and also gave to Lerato. Lerato said she would then transfer me to a person which would close my credit card account. She couldn't reach anyone and took my details for the hoax call back system which ABSA has. (Why need three people to assist one customer? Is this a banana republic?)

I hereby give my official notice to close my credit card at ABSA in complaince with the NCA, in writing. I also expect this to be backdated to the 23rd of October 2013 for all fees and or other charges. This is the second time which I tried to close my credit card with which ABSA came with excuses.

I now consider this matter as settled. You are welcome to contact me to confirm that my credit card is closed and settled.
