12 months ago I lived in another area and posted several complaints about MTN connections speeds, and received a polite response on here. MTN simply made empty promises as nobody ever contacted me and connection speeds never improved.
6 months ago I move to Hyde Park. 3G connection speeds were pretty quick until Nov-2012. Then it went horribly slow to the point where the majority of the time, the connection is EDGE. I have ridiculously slow upload and download speeds and internet pages keep timing out. Even whatsapp doesn't work with the slow connection.
Contacted MTN, got a ref number, an email reply from some spokesperson and then nobody actually contacts me to do anything about it. This happened 3 times and I now have a total of 12 ref numbers from MTN. In not one of these instances did any MTN technician contact me telephonically or by email. Only received polite spokesperson email saying that a techinician will contact me shortly.
I've had it with MTN. They should change the 3G coverage maps that they publish as it is grossly misleading the public, and MTN are profiting hugely from selling a product which doesn't exist!
