Account confusion

Due to unfortunate circumstances, i have been unable to pay my contract amount for two months. However, on the 15th April I made a payment of around 750, which covered one months arrears and then yesterday I called to find out the balance and was put through to the legal department, where i was told the months arrears and the payment due for this month comes to a total of 1478.08. I was then told to call to have my services reconnected today. I duly called, and was informed that I owe another 750 rand for this months bill. I fail to understand this, as I have now paid 3 months worth of bills when I was only in arrears by 2 months. I was also told that i owe nothing more yesterday but the consultant i spoke to today tells me otherwise. Please advise.
