I have been having slow speeds from Web Africa the last few days. I have been a customer for a long time.
I experimented with other ISPs and found a competitor's product, that performed fine.
After testing the other ISP's product over the weekend, this morning (1 April, 8:48am), I cancelled the Web Africa account, informing them that the reason is slow download speeds.
They told me that the account can only be cancelled end of May, meaning that I need to pay for another two months.
I know that there is a month's notice period, but enforcing effectively 60 days is unfair, given the fact that the service was not acceptable, and I was technically 48 minutes into the new working day month when I cancelled,
I first thought this is a silly April Fools joke - could not believe that a reputable supplier would expose itself to such unfair business practices.
I hope this can be resolved, and that they will act in a fair manner.
