Call centre, network, rudeness!

I have a blackberry 9360 on contract and the last two days my network coverage switches from GPRS to EDGE and vice versa. I contacted MTN customer care on 808 (their usual number 173 does not work) and they put me through to a lady by the name of Akhona who helped me (was very polite and helpful) and was going through the settings on my phone with me but everything she suggested, I had already tried. The problem was leaning toward network related issues so she gave me a number to phone for their coverage department - 083 900 1212 asking me to inquire about the signal in the area as it might be affecting my phone. I then spoke to a man named Thembi who was rude, unhelpful and even told me that I had phoned the wrong department (after he told me they can only check signal -which is what I asked for-) and then told me that the lady that assisted me "" and that it is settings on my phone. When i told him that it is not settings, he continued to then argue with me and cut me off by telling me that he is transferring me to customer care again. In the mean time I don't know know what is going on, my BBM doesn't work as it requires EDGE and GPRS is dominant. Terrible service!!!
