Before I took out a Cell C contract in April I checked their map for coverage, and my house fell in the area that had full coverage. Not so... I am stuck with a 2 year contract with no network coverage at my house. When I contacted Cell C they eventually told me that the coverage was bad because of the terrain in my neighbourhood! I was advised to go to "settings" on my phone and select Vodacom as the network carrier. This works for a while, but then I will suddenly get a message that says: "Your selected cellular network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in Settings". This has resulted in periods of no network coverage and missed calls. I am a medical doctor and my patients need to be able to get hold of me 24 hours a day, so this is completely unacceptable!!
