I was notified by sms by Vodacom that I qualified for an upgrade. My phone broke the day before and could not be fixed so I was delighted with the prospect of a new phone. I phoned Vodacom Direct and after two hours on the line the order was placed. Or so i thought. When I phoned again today to check on the status of the delivery I was told that there is no order for me. No explanation as to why the brain dead call centre operator did not place the order, just 'Ooo sorry mem no order.'

In the meanwhile I cannot use BBM or whatsapp and of course my bill is rocketing because I have to use sms from the very old, basic, back-up phone i have to use.

Now: Why contact a client ans state that they qualify for a new phone if you have no intention of actually delivering one to them?

I think Vodacom overcharges and they employ who do not render a service at all.
