First time I know that Caller Id is blocked

Good day. I bought a contact phone and liaised with vodacom for this., I thought my phone was the problem when i saw that anyone who phones me shows unknown, so i went and the checked my phone, the supplier said that i should phone vodacom and ask them to unblock this setting on my phone. So i phone 082.111 and the said that its an additional amount i need to pay in order to see who calls me. This is madness. All my phones before i could see who phoned me. now I have to pay in order to see this. Bad news! Not only now do i have to pay but on the 12th of July 2013 when i phoned vodacom they open this setting just to get a message today 19 July 2013 to say my "mandatory call limit has been removed - should I wish to reactivate my call limit I should contact Customer Care-on 082.111. So what they saying is I pay and they open it for a week and then close the setting. How are we going to solve this dumb problem. This is terrible service.
