On 27/12/2012 I handed in my Samsung Galaxy S2 at the Vodacom Tygervalley Repair Centre after my phone froze and just kept on showing the Samsung logo and then eventually blacked out. On 31/12/2012 Vodacom notified me that my phone's LCD screen needs to be replaced and that due to physical damage (a small dent on the chrome part of the phone of which the rest of the phone is in pristine condition) my waranty was void and that the damage to the LDC was due to my phone falling. Funny thing is my phone never fell. The dent was made 6 months prior to my phone blacking out. I refused to accept the quote and Vodacom did not want to give me a second technician to look at the phone. I took my phone to SmartLab, Samsung's repair centre and they fixed my phone and said there was no physical damage evident. It was in fact not the LCD screen that was broken but the hard drive needed to be replaced. My question is, if I blindly accepted Vodacom's technician's opinion would I have paid the R2200 for the LCD which was not broken in the first place and pay for the hard drive? I insist on an investigation into inadequate technicians and corruption at Vodacom and will take this matter further.
