At the beginning of the year, I asked about a potential upgrade on my Neotel account to a more expensive package, for quality purposes. After a very helpful salesman notified me of all the steps and procedures involved, I went ahead and did the upgrade and "accepted" the extra charges which he had told me аbout: "Installation fee" and "Activation fee". I asked him about the old equipment and basically said it was now worthless. The upgrade went smoothly as did the installation of new equipment.

The following month I got a bill which reflected the "installation fee" and "activation fee", as well as the new monthly fee on the contract. BUT, what it also reflected was over R2000 termination fee's from the old account!!! I would never have done the upgrade if I knew of this beforehand.

When I phoned the "CUSTOMER CARE" number, and queried why this was never relayed to me from the beginning, I was told: "I understand the salesman did not tell you about these charges, but unfortunately (FOR ME!) you still have to pay them".

After a 1 hour phone call, and no joy, I left a message for the quality control manager / supervisor to call me back. I am still waiting, 2 weeks later.
