I am being treated like an irresponsible criminal by Vodacom. A week or so ago, I recieved a call from some attorneys - advising that I have been handed over by Vodacom for an account that I had not paid since last year. I called Vodacom care line was transferred to accounts and or legal department where I was advised that I took a contract in MAY 2012 and had not paid for it and now the account has been handed over. In OCTOBER 2012 I took out a contract which is being paid monthly - at the time of taking the contract NOT a mention of this account was made to me. Not to mention that before VODACOM decided to drag my name to attorneys for this non payment, NOT a phone call from VODACOM was made to me regarding this mysterious account that I had apparently not paid. The call centre advised that I took this mysterious contract on 31 May and activated it on 31 May. Had I recieved some notification of this I would have disputed it from the on set instead you decide to hand me over to attorneys. As a consumer I have rights and protection NOT to be discounted like this. VODACOM please sort your administration and have a COURTESY of advising your customers. Can someone competent pls help!
