I am disgusted that MTN swopped my sim while I was asleep on 15 October 2012. How was this done as I did not authorise this and was not aware of this (was asleep at the time)! The next morning I saw my phone was not working as a sim card error was displayed. I went to an MTN shop to enquire and the lady there informed me that my sim had been swopped at about 10pm (while I was asleep) and that it looked suspicious. I became worried as I use mobile banking and immediately went to the bank to check my accounts. The bank informed that R10, 000 had been withdrawn from my account during the night! I reported the case to the police. MTN also had the cheek to try and charge me for new sim and transferring my number to it! I have also been dealing with the bank in this regard and they have been helpful to a certain extent but I have received no assistance from MTN! If my sim was not unlawfully swopped by MTN my money would not have been! I feel at risk using MTN as my sim could be illegally swopped without my knowledge and more money from my account at any time. How is it possible that MTN could have allowed my sim to be swopped without my knowledge and permission?
