Sim card swopped without permission

At 13h00 today my phone lost network signal. I contacted the Nashua Mobile Customer care number, which took an eternity to get through, to enquire what is wrong. I was told that a sim swap was done on my mobile number. This was a shock to me as I did not know anything about this. How can a sim swap be done without my permission? With the amount of going on in the country how is this possible? This is unacceptable and could lead to massive financial losses. I have been struggling for several hours to get my sim activated. I'm still offline!!!
I had to call my bank and block all my accounts to prevent any possible losses. I now have to frantically run around because of Nashua Moblie to protect my interests.
