I upgraded my contract 3 months ago and took a Samsung Galaxy SIII handset. I've used the phone up until now when I decided to see what my options were to get an iPhone 5. To do so, Vodacom advised that I MUST cancel my current contract, pay a R8320 penalty (which includes all the monthly payments left and the phone finance) and start a new contract.
I don't understand why I can't keep the contract and just pay off the finance on the Samsung and then start a new finance deal on the iPhone 5. I don't wish to cancel the contract, I merely want to swop out the phone.
