I just want to cancel my Telkom Line!!!

The only way to cancel a Telkom line / service is to phone 10210 and stay on hold until you are cut off as 'all their consultants are currently busy'.
We have phoned this number for 3 days and today I am on the line waiting (for the third time for over 15 minutes now) and my husband is at Telkom who have made him phone 10210 from their phone - he has been holding without response too.
Why is it so difficult to cancel a service / non-service? This is shocking and a wonderful example of how we have absolutely no customer service in South Africa at all.
