MTN charges R146, 977 per GB for Roaming Data

I took up a job offer in Dubai in June 2013. It would take time to get my own cell here so I decided to use my RSA MTN roaming here in the mean time. Before I left SA I informed MTN and they sent me a consent form to sign - which I did and scanned and sent back to them. I seem to recall that I consented to their charges and they were not liable for anything etc. I don't have a copy but I do remember specifically that the charges were not shown on this form. So I made a few calls and used the SIM in a 3G modem I bought here. After about a week, I received an email saying my unbilled balance was R26, 863.26 and that I should call them. I decided not to call but stopped using the SIM here and waited for my bill. I was shocked when the bill came as I realised that the charges were pretty much all for data. Numerous emails have passed between us but ultimately MTN charged me R26, 168 for 182 MB of roamed data! I do not accept this and have not paid it, I am happy to pay a reasonable amount but MTN do not respond - the Ombud has also been involved and no longer responds to emails. The last communication from MTN is a letter of demand threatening legal action. Please help.
