What is the reason for charging a ridiculous rate on data usage while roaming? R108 per Megabyte is outrageous! Who regulates this kind of charge?
I really don't think that the 3rd party roaming network charges this rate for data, so where is that money going?
The first problem is the rate, the 2nd problem is with MTN and how they allow roaming to be activated without actually even warning about the rates. When I activated my roaming over the phone with the consultant, I was not made aware that there will be excessive rates for data usage. The consultant on the phone could have at least just warned me.
3rd problem is that while I was roaming, I only got a warning SMS after my bill had already reached over R5000 in roaming fees. Why is there no earlier warning?
4th problem is that I am also charged VAT on the roaming data that is already charged at an unreasonable rate? Just the VAT alone on this invoice comes to more than my usual average monthly statement from MTN (without roaming).
I used a total of 54MB of roaming data which came to R5731!!!
I am not disputing using this data, I just do not want to pay for my usage at this rate.

Please do something about this?
