On 14 January at 16:50 I called 808 to give notice of cancellation of 2 contracts expiring end of February. The operator requested a pin, which I did not have and he then set one up for me by asking security questions. I was then put on hold to the Retentions Department which did not go through. Three days later upgrades were performed against these two contracts at the IStore in Centurion, using a fake ID with my ID number and the pin the MTN call centre operator helped me set up. Now I am being billed for two contracts on an IPhone and IPad which I did not receive, and which I did not request. The matter was reported to the MTN department on 18 January, and to date I have not received any feedback. The IStore manager acknowledged that this is a clear case of against me, yet MTN cannot do the same? And their operators are involved in this crime!!!
After 15 years of being a loyal MTN customer I have lost all faith in them, and will cancel all my contracts as soon as this mess has been sorted out. So beware!!! Between month 21 and 24 when your contract is upgradeable but you cannot yet cancel, you are at the complete mercy of the working at MTN!
