I'd wanted to port an MTN cellphone # to Vodacom since 15/01/2014, 3 visits to the Vodacom outlet & 5 days later, i am still sitting with a device that doesn't work. my visits to the outlet were met by an arrogant Manager who initially refused to speak to me, then when he eventually made the time to speak to me, wanted to know if 'my problem was the device or his attitude.' Upon asking Mr Manager if i could cancel the contract as it had been 2 days & the device still didn't work (the port to Vodacom failed), he advised I could not cancel and would be liable for cancellation fees, despite the fact that i had had the device for less than 7 days. Today a consultant from the outlet phoned to tell me that if i cancelled the contract, it would create unnecessary cost for the outlet through no fault of theirs as the port failed due to a Vodacom problem! Vodacom on the other hand have confirmed that I am well within my rights to cancel within 7 days in this particular instance, however the same consultant retorted "its easy for Vodacom to say so as they don't carry the cost."
