Vodacom
Unfair billing for a device not taaken

Since September 2013 I am billed for a device that I have returned to the store. This started on the 29nth Aug 2013 after I visited a Vodacom shop in Savannah Mall Polokwane to buy data bundles. Instead, the sales person recommended that I must sign a contract for a device which I later learned it is a router. Because the device did connect, I then returned it back to the store the following day. I explained to the sales person that the device has connectivity problems therefore I still want to buy data bundles as initially planned. The sales Person agreed that the contract can be cancelled but by the store Manager who was not present that day. In less than five days I returned to the store to cancel the contract. The Sales Person confirmed infront of the Store Manager that he took advantage to market the router to me. I then requested that the contract be cancelled since it did not meet my needs and was never used. The Store Manager refused to cancel the deal saying it will be at a loss for his store. I then contacted Vodacom Customer Care to resolve this matter (Ref: A1-030V- 5YV1IY). I was promised that the matter will be resolved as long as it was returned in less than 5 days.
