First and foremost: I always get great customer service from Kobus - one of the sales representatives at the branch mentioned. He deserves all forms of credit/reward you can give. Thanks, Kobus.
Secondly, and my main reason for writing this complaint: It has been months since the following incident, due to the fact that I couldn't decide whether I or not should officially complain:
- At the start of 2013 I upgraded my handset to the new iPhone5;
- Shortly after, still well within the warranty and covered under insurance, the handset malfunctioned due to no error on my end - not even the consultants knew what went wrong with the phone;
- I run two businesses off my smartphone and I am a radio presenter, so I always need to be connected. I was not willing to use a temporary mediocre handset - I needed the iPhone replaced immediately;
I ended up having to pay R4, 000 out of pocket for my new iPhone5;
Irrespective of all contributing factors (like not being willing to wait 2 weeks for feedback from technical about my broken handset or the warranty, or the insurance small print), I should not have had to pay as much for a malfunctioned handset sold to me by Vodacom. Unacceptable.
