3G and EDGE connection problems!!!

Ive had an MTN cellphone contract for two years now. I moved to secunda about a year ago and did not have connection problems till about a month ago. Cannot seem to get 3G CONNECTION and EDGE is extremely slow, till now i havent been able to send or receive mail or even do the odd broasing, was previously using a blackberry torch 9800 and upgraded to an iphone5 a few days ago. This phone is completely useless without 3G. Have called numerous times to get help and the call attendants basically all tell me the same thing which ive tried but nothing seems to work. I pay more tha 1000rand a month on all my mtn cointract including this phone and the internet sim card and modem.
Truth is a find mtn very poor in their client service and connection.i am at a point where i am giving this a few days then i will have to cancel all my contracts and port to another network (preferrably Vodacom) an pay up whatever penalty.
