NUMBER DE-ACTIVATED RE-CYCLE

I am so disappointed with virgin, after two attempts trying to communicate via the website contact i received no response... eventually wasting airtime via telephone... telling me that my number is no longer on the system.. i received no warning that my number would be de-activated... i had that number very long and there still over R100 airtime on.
How could they just recycle my number. I want my old number back: 0741506666
