I have a contract with Virgin Mobile that expires today. I took out a contract with Vodacom. When I took out that contract and inquired about porting my number, they said it was fine if I waited until my Virgin Mobile contract expired to then port to Vodacom. Now I am told that because the contract is already activated with a number, I can't port to Vodacom anymore. I was able to port a number to an already activated SIM card when I was with Virgin Mobile, and I know this is also possible with MTN. Why can't I do this with Vodacom? It is now going to cause massive inconvenience to change my number with my bank, employer etc. This is really poor!!
