Mtn
Price changed / false advertising

On 28 December I went to the store in order to purchase a MTN fastlink dongle for R549, as well as to add a MTN night express 5gig data deal to my existing account, advertised for R129pm in the y'ellow magazine.

I could purchase the dongle, but unfortunately the system went offline as the data was loaded. I filled in a manual application instore and was told I will be informed when to collect it. On 2 January I received an sms from the store: "Good day Sir. The contract has been approved. Im just waiting for the mtn to load the packages then I will contact you."

On Friday, 3 January I received a call from a lady at the branch indicating that the package was not available at that price, but actually at R249pm, whoch is double the advertised amount. I requested her to go back to mtn in order to broker the deal at the advertised rate, but did not get a response from her.

Yesterday I went in and took the contract, but believe that I was mislead and cheated by mtn for advertising one price, but asking another.

If I did not receive the sms I could possibly have believed it, but after 2 weeks and then the price suddenly changes: That is suspicious...
Cant believe mtn again!
