Unacceptable practise

I renewed my contract early Dec as I was due for an upgrade, and was told that the current package will expire 31 Dec, with the new package only starting 1 Jan. However, on 27 Dec I received an SMS saying that I have been successfully migrated, (i.e. the old package has been cancelled and the new one only taking effect 2 Jan, and not 1 Jan, due to the public holiday). This left me with 5 days of not having benefits (airtime & data) either on my old package (which I paid for in full for a month) or new one. Upon enquiring at the branch, I was told that I was given R6 airtime (pro-rata for 5 days after my airtime has been nullified, due to the migration) for this interim period. Surely when a migration takes place, the new package and benefits should be availble the next day (even with a pro-rata bill for the 5 days), or the full airtime on the previous package could have been left intact. I find this practice to be unacceptable, and no one at the branch could give me an adequate answer. I need management to explain this.
