Vodacom did it AGAIN for us this month! Last month we received a whopping bill because we "over-stepped" our data usage. After complaining on Hello Peter I received a call from them. I was told that I need to go online and follow the prompts to see my data usage. Between the lines I felt that I was being told that we were too stupid to do this as it was "very easy to do".
My husband (who knows a lot about computers), tried this. We could not get the information we wanted. We went into the local branch and was again told how to go online and what to do. The data reflected is very ambiguous. We are also told how much we have left - FOR THE MONTH AHEAD. This is irrelevant as we haven't entered the MONTH AHEAD. We are still in the dark and - unlike MTN, we have once again gone over our data usage, though keeping an eye on the so-called usage, and thus have another "nice" bill this month.
We are now using our MTN dongle for most of our telecommunications, and I only use Vodacom for my office work. When the contract ends, so does any further relationship with this company.
Thank goodness for a company like MTN who offers straightforward information right up front
