Since 04/12/'13 I have had no cell reception at my home in Wynberg. I've written to MTN on 06/12/'13 and got an automated response only (#7423883). On 09/12/'13 I had to phone & was told there's a tower problem & they cannot give me a turn around time. On Wed 11 Dec I phoned again. The person at "Coverage" informed me there's nothing MTN can do. They're waiting for Telkom & Eskom. I again wrote (11/12/'13) - to both "Complaints" (#7423883) & "Coverage" & again only received an automated response (#7446653 - asking all the q's already answered in my email). TO DATE I HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE.
I have had no signal in the Wynberg area where I live for more than a week. It is not acceptable to tell me that you are waiting for Telkom and Eskom. How is that my problem? I cannot accept that MTN does not have a risk management plan for such an event. Vodacom has perfect reception despite also having had a problem on that Wednesday. Why isn't MTN doing what they did, or at least piggybacking onto their signal? They are the technical experts. They should know that a tower can go down. They should have risk mitigation and recovery plans in place. Why have they not executed those plans?
